Cynara Cardunculus

Good morning all.

I've got a Cynara Cardunculus that I need to move. Does anyone know if it is ok to do this, please?

I hope so because I have a couple in a very silly place. I expect to find some very deep roots. Most things can be moved if you're careful. I'll be trying to move them with as much soil as possible so they don't noticeimage

They have serious tap roots, so as Nut says, dig deeply.

I too have moved them. As Nut and Doc have said, they've chunky roots but if it's only a couple of years old, it'd be fine to move it now. If it's an older clump, you might be able to remove a smaller chunk from around the edge.

Thanks for that. Mine is only 12 months in situ so hopefully won't have too much of a root.
