Camellia

My camellia is in a pot in the garden and is covered in buds. Is it safe to leave it out over the winter, maybe covered in fleece when it's very cold, or should I put it in the greenhouse?

Should be fine outside - they are tough plants, despite their exotic appearance.  The victorians grew them in greenhouses for years before they realised they were hardyimage

  • Just found this post and answer. (Never bee on any forum BEFORE) but have got three camellias all with buds and I am going to be away for 6 weeks until beginning of December do I need to do anything with them extra?

  • Good Morning

Many apologies for not replying sooner, have been away.  Camellias still O.K.

No, my camellias are in 3 pots, but I do know I have them positioned away from the morning sun and out of direct winds.

    Best regards
