Hi guys

A real newbie to the gardening world, moved to a house with nature all round and a garden (didn't have one before), now going through the writers adage, 'fear of the blank page', love the idea of edible flowers, herbs and plants (not allowed to grow veggies etc - rules of the site).

Hi 5 and welcome to our weird gardeners world, why the no veg rule is this your own or is the site a communal one.

You would surely be allowed to grow lettuce and tomatoes in containers on your terrace/patio.

If you post a photo of the space, with info about North/South orientation you will get loads of advice about the garden. In the meantime, try to get out any weeds.

Not sure if it is a weed? Post a photo here by clicking on the tree icon.image

Not allowed to grow veg!?  Sounds like the old restrictions imposed on 'new suburbs' built in the first half of the last century - No pigs or pigeons!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
