Grass seed
in Plants
Hi all, do you think it's too late to sow grass seed? Soil is still quite warm even though air temp is dropping. Have a lot of areas still to cover and due to being away, didn't get as much done as I needed to in September
Any thoughts much appreciated

I've sowed grass seed later than this, One lot was snowed on almost immediately after germination but carried on growing when the thaw came
But I just have grass. If you want a LAWN, you may have to give it more consideration.

should be fine sowing grass seed, might get washed away with all this rain were having

I like that phrasing! I definitely have grass rather than a lawn!
Best sort Snoodle. I don't spend time worry about weed and feed or leather jackets.
Mr and Mrs Mole are getting a bit over enthusiastic with their operations on a grass path though

Hello , 2 chances it grows or it doesn't , personally if is small areas I would have a go
best of luck
Thanks guys! Will give it a go and report back. It's large areas so no chance of fleecing. I also have grass not a lawn as have 3 large dogs and do agility on it. As long as it looks green, that's fine by me.
If the seed doesn't germinate now because it's too cold, will it germinate once it warms up in the spring? Presumably that's how it works in nature?
I would have thought so , however , if that is the case I would put a bit more down in the spring , if it is a very dry spring might want a drop of water
best of luck
