Hi Derek - welcome to the forum - we're friendly here  image

For the Clematis I'd use Fish, Blood & Bone or similar in early spring - Feb here in the UK.

Bulbs and corms contain all the nutrition they need in order to flower so they don't need feeding now.  However, after they've flowered it's a good idea to apply a similar fertilizer to encourage the growth of plenty of foliage which will then feed the bulbs for the following season.

My life is very difficult as my OH works next to the garden centre and I often visit him at work image

Your other half will appreciate all your hard work image in the spring when your garden is looking lovely.  Bulbs are such an easy way to bring colour into your life image
