Gladioli Corms

I dug my Gladioli corms up yesterday and a couple of them have what I can only describe as canker disfigurement  on them. I have never seen this before and was wondering if it is serious , should I dump the affected corms or is it more serious . The Plants aren't Prize-winners or ultra-special, but they gave a lovely display of bright coloured flowers and to me they are worth keeping. Does anyone have any idea what the proble is, if any ? Thanks in advance.
