Plant ID please

I have just found this in my woody area where lots of random things pop up.

Can anyone tell me what this is ? I'm wondering if it is a hellebore, it looks familiar but can't put my finger on it.  thank you.

Pretty sure it is a hellebore

  • I think its a hellebore as well. The leave edges are serrated, and saw like. Do you have them in your garden?

  • Woo hoo I got it right.  I planted one lonely hellebore last year and had heard they sprout up everywhere, but I had expected I would have need two of them to mix and make seeds if you know what I mean.  Obviously not.  My plan for my woody area is starting to come together.  Foxgloves, (planted this year), bluebells, campion growing from seed in pots, wild garlic already there.  Verbena bonariensis for the sunny area... happy happy happy.

    thank you imageimageimage
