    I think if you want a succession of flowering from plants like Cosmos, you either need to do two sowings a few weeks apart, or pinch out one lot for later flowers as Lyn and Verd have said. image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I must chop next year, I couldnt see them this year till it was too late.

    I kept deadheading my Cosmos until the end of August,at which point I felt sorry for them so let them go to seed. They are dying back fast now.

  • Mine are going the same way, OP.

    I deadhead as much as I can, thin out and chuck the bits that have stopped yielding any flowers too.

    Autumn is on the way....
