Black Spot
I love gardening but i'm no expert when it comes to pests and diseases etc.. I have about 20 roses in my garden, and I have noticed 2 of them with no leaves on them at all. I asked a plant expert at my local wyevale garden centre and they said this was likely black spot. They suggested that I buy Rose Clear and use that on my roses where the black spot has appeared.
After this chat I looked at all my roses and noticed that this had infected all of them now. However the newer branches are not affected. The expert stated not to compost the infected leaves.
I've now started to use the Rose Clear, is this safe for bees?
Do i spray the whole Rose plant with this?
Is there a better safer product for bees, or do I try not to spray the bud?
all suggestions welcomed.
cheers

I don't know whether Rose Clear is safe for bees - like you I prefer not to take risks where our pollinating insects are concerned. You may find this helpful http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/gardeningadvice/10102631/Can-a-black-spot-spray-restore-your-roses-to-health.html
There's also another thread about blackspot which you may find interesting
