  • Does that mean too much water or not enough........the soil is quite damp.

    Hi Nik, they do need a good amount of moisture to keep them happy. 

    Mildew is a common problem with Phlox. You can spray for mildew but it won't take away the white that's already there. It doesn't kill the plant. I think I'd either cut it back or put up with it but try and prevent it next year. A good mulch and keep them hydratedimage

    Not enough, its been a very dry hot summer, I have plants and trees like but I dont take any notice, I grow loads of plants, if one or two sucumbe, so be it, nothing is perfect in this world. You could cut it down to the ground or just leave it. It will be gone soon anyway. Next year it will come up ok.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
