oh Liriodendron - I just googled Spiraea x billardii and it very much looks like what I have... to be honest - it could have been planted at some point as it is a raised bed that has become overgrown and I thought was just all weeds.
Nutcutlet - no - that's it! There is another one along the gravel but it's not much bigger.
DM - I think you're right! Is it a weed? It's a sweet little flower poking out from my gravel - I kind of want to try and look after it and maybe move it.

It's only a weed if you don't like it Amy

Some people grow it as a wild flower, quite pretty, but may grow a bit more than
you are expecting (or not, as wild flowers are not stable like cultivated ones).
