I too have the Arum Italicum, it does spread but I take out what I don't want. The leaves get quite big and are beautifully marked so good in flower arranging.
I used to like it until my children ate some berries and had to be rushed to hospital. Then they grew up and I liked it again. Now I have grandchildren who visit so I have to dig it up again.

Many thanks for the info we have a dark area under fir trees so this could be a perfect alterntaive solution

I agree, I have them under the trees and they brighten up the area after the ferns have died down.
