Removing weeds from border without harming trees
Hi - recently moved into a new house with a garden that has not been so well looked after...the border has a row of small leylandii growing and they're surrounded by a thick layer of weeds and some grass that I want to get rid of. What's the best method of doing this without harming the trees? Thanks!

I would pull/dig gently to get the worst out. When some of them return, mask off the nearbye tree with plastic/cardboard and on a still day spray with weed killer. It may take 2 or3 weeks for this to kill the weeds.
....and don't forget to keep those Leylandii under control - they grow surprisingly quickly!
Thanks! Will do this
