Slugs and Sedums
I've put some sedums in this year and am loving the beautiful pink colour at this time of year. It is just that the leaves have big holes in and this morning I found slug slime and even what i assume was a slug poop on the flower.
I've just found sedums are on a list of slug proof plants, so wondering is it really slugs eating them or something else...
Looks like slug slime on the flower and poop ?
Any ideas ? thank you.

I don't know how sedums got on a list of slug proof plants.

Hmm
Mine look like yours and I know who's responsible.

At least I'm not the only one. War has been declared on the ridiculous amount of slugs I have this year...
I reckon the only truly slug-proof plants are weeds... things like sorrel are so bitter the slugs won't touch them unless they're desperate. But pretty well everything else gets chomped, including shrubs (by mountaineering slugs!).
I think the only slug proof plants are plastic. Paper ones wouldn't be, snails love paper.

Agree, Philippa! Planted out 48 large plug plants of wild flowers a fortnight ago, & surrounded them with organic slug pellets. 7 plants remain - sorrel, vetch and yarrow - all the rest have been eaten to stumps. Plants obviously more tempting than slug pellets...
Sedums have never been slug proof in my experience. They love the big squashy leaves
I get a lot of leaf miner on mine too but I just put other plants in front to hide it where possible...

You wouldn't believe the plants that are on 'rabbit proof plants' lists either...
Who are they kidding?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
