I really would like a greenhouse but as I'm rather new to this gardening business I don't want to go mad. Should I go for a cheap new one or a 2nd hand one?
i went for a second hand one but a good brand. I did loads of research before hand. I wanted a sturdy one rather than a dirt cheap one. For me this meant a robinsons or a rhino. I ended up with a robinsons purchased from ebay. It's brilliant! Really well made, cleaver design and I'm pretty sure it'll be 20 years before I even think about replacing it. I paid someone I found on the internet to collect it from the ebay seller, which meant him dismantling it and he also re- erected it for me. in my humble opinion it's best to go for one that will last. Buy cheap, buy twice!
Thank you for the replies tootles + philippa. sorry about the change of name, just getting started. I am sure you are right and I will certainly go for the best I can afford.
We got an almost free Alton wooden greenhouse. We have dismantled and rebuilt it about four times now. Had to replace quite a lot of glass as a result of carelessness and winter storms, but worth every penny the new glass cost.
