I have purple blotches on my cauliflowers is this normal or is it a problem

Are the blotches on the leaves or the curds?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

They do that in hot weather and/or if you lave them a bit too long after they are ready. You can eat them though - it's not a disease.
