Damson/plum and apple tree advice

Hello

We recently moved to our bungalow and we have a damson (or plum - not sure how you tell) and an apple tree. Please can anyone give me any tips on their maintenance (especially over the coming colder months)?

The apple tree has lost the majority of it's apples now and the damson/plum tree has now lost all of its fruit.

Thanks is advance.

  • Hi Pansyface (love the name)!

Ok - I'll leave the damson tree alone for now then.

I *believe* that the apples are along the branch and not at the tips but I'll double check tomorrow when I go out to get a photo (too dark to get one now). Thanks

Thanks Philippa - all of the fruits are gone now so I can't compare but I do think that they were damsons...what can I do with them? I've only ever heard of damson jam and that's it! image
