Bad compost

Evening!

I recently planted some bulbs in pots (alliums and iris) using some compost I bought from Lidl....I have since planted some more bulbs using a compost I bought from B&Q. The B&Q one is so much better that it really is making me wonder whether I should add some feed or something to the pots with the Lidl compost as it was awful by comparison!

What do you think?

Also, what is the best 'all purpose' feed that isn't too expensive?

Bulbs need feeding after they flower

But I don't think you can tell how much feed a compost has in it by how awful it looks or feels.

I got some compost from Wickes recently. Better to work with that the JAB I had previously
