Help with identication

Hello-I'm hoping some kind person can help me identify these two plants-both are in large pots. The first is a "woody" shrub-been in the pot for years but grows well each year.

The second is a perennial-die's back each year-nice "greeny-bronze" foliage but has never flowered.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Thank You

John

  • Hi John,

The first is a Spirea. Don't know the second, sorryimage

The second looks like one of the Eupatoriums but I would expect that to flower so probably not.

Everything flowers, so why not this one?

Second is Eupatorium chocolate. Mine flowers in October / November time. It has recently changed its name, and been allocated to a new genus, but its new name escapes me.

Agree with Spirea for the first.

How can you lie there and think of England
