Hi gardening experts, could any of you advise what might be the problem with my young fig tree. The leaves gave turned yellow & brown in the last week/10 days. I had a mature tree in my last house & i don't remember the leaves looking like this
The leaves do turn yellow and drop if they're too dry - and they will of course turn yellow and fall in the autumn - and as Monty says, autumn's early this year.
I know you're going to, but I'd get those weeds cleared from around it sooner rather than later

Thank you both - I did water but probably not often as I should have. It's quite a shady spot & ground retains moisture. the weeds are actually acquilegia & are all over the garden (nightmare to control)

Did you water during the hot weather.?

Those ones look more like buttercups than aquilegia to me
Aquilegia's foliage is usually much more fern-like.

Dove and Welshonion. I think you're both right. There's buttercups and geum in there. Geum urbanum maybe. Wood avens
