    Hi Philippa, the bedstraw if for the caterpillars (if we get any). The adult moths seem happy with any nectar producing flower. Ceratostigma here. Maybe because it's late floweringand we rarely see them early in the year

    They seem to be on plants in the patio tubs, fuchsia, verbena, petunia, I will google the bedstraw plant, i am not to good on wild flowers.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    I'm not sure they breed often enough in the UK to worry about what the caterpillars eat.
