Fishy65 The cuttings that I have were given to me by my adjoining next door neighbour. Her's has in previous years climbed over her garage and her neighbour's as well! She now prunes it regularly in the growing season to keep it under control. Thanks for the warning!
I too want to grow a virginia creeper in a pot because I cannot plant it in the ground. I already have one in a pot but it looks a bit unhappy at the moment. I wonder if it will pick up next year? I wondered if they did not really appreciate being in a pot? Usually this plant romps away but maybe that is only in open ground!

Penelope - I'd perhaps choose as big a pot as you can manage and maybe that would give your creeper the potential it needs
