Cheery laurel

Hi, i bought 30 cherry laurel bushes. I find a lot of leaves are yellow ( a lot are green too). When i removed from pots they were very wet. I have now planted in good loose topsoil along one side of garden.

Am i best leaving the watering now to nature and wait until next year to cut back a bit? Is it possible they have been over watered while in 20 litre pots causing the yellow leaves. I know they can shed leaves but my 3 year old ones i already had i can only see about 3 leaves over 12 plants that are yellow so i,m guessing these new plants are in some distress as some of the plants probably have 20% yellowing. I have put some horse manure around then now so do i just leave well alone and hope they green up?
