Sorry to hear of your discontent, Lyn.......unfortunately there seems to be a silly season for these things, usually coinciding with lack of gardening activity.
I am very sorry to hear of your son in law's condition David but, one man's silly, childish, rubbish is another man's banter/humour/passionate belief.
We should all take time to consider the plight of others. However, people can't spend their entire time censoring their thoughts or posts in case they may be read by someone less fortunate than themselves. Lots of people, myself included, have posted childish rubbish but I very much doubt that anyone would knowingly cause offence to your son in law or his little girl.
Keep talking, Verdun. I don't see anything to be offended about here, even though we may disagree from time to time. Gardening matters but it isn't the ONLY thing gardeners talk about.
How awful that you have taken banter as an insult to your family. I am quite dismayed and hurt if your comment was directed at my comments. I am sorry if I have upset you.
However did you reach that conclusion from what I posted?
It just goes to show that successful communication is an art that has to be constantly honed. Always try to read what you post through another's eyes before you hit the submit button.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Alas, still the message doesn't register, or for the contents to even be read correctly.

So, what is the message?

Dove's right.
Don't 'assume', count to ten. Amazing what a difference that can make.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
