Orchid problem :( Help....
Hello, I bought this Orchid in January this year, and its been flowering ever since except the top one snapped when I tried to clip it to a cane . But then just recently all the flowers all seemed to look like they were dying all at the same time ....so upon closer inspection I had seemed to have over watered it cause it was sitting in water and all the moss around the roots is really wet ............
Here are pictures of the Orchid ..........I don't know now what to do ...............
Is it ever going to flower again , Do I need to cut it back HELP PLEASE
Thankyou ........

Your orchid actually looks healthy, look at it's shiny leaves. They don't flower non stop but the flower spike can go on for months like yours did. If the lead flower stem hadn't broken what you would have done is cut it back to a node ie a knobbly bit on the stem. Then it would probably have produced one or more flower stems. Yours has already done that! Cut the stem off as close to the leaves as you can.
I'd probably repot it, get some good quality orchid compost, it should look almost like bark chippings. Take the orchid out of its pot. Clean off the old compost and moss and replant it back in again with the new compost. You can see two new aerial roots, these are fine and don't need to go it the pot. The orchids pick up extra moisture with these roots so mist them.
As for watering I dunk mine in a bowl of water maybe once a week, less in winter, leave for 20 mins drain and pop back in the cover pot. They will rot if left in water too long. I feed mine in the spring and summer.
your orchid, with a bit of luck, will produce a new flower spike from the next leaf axil but it does it when it wants!
best of luck.
