  • Oops sorry, missed that. Lots of moveable stuff might be the order of the day, so that you can take it with you. Pots in profusion are a favourite, and you can grow lots of  vegetables in containers too. Some of the principles of garden design still apply, such as surprises, rooms etc. Invest in your watering system and off you go.

Hey Woody - we have a watering system in place already - it's called the Scottish weather! image

I'll get my coat...although I might not need it today as it's dry! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • SweetPea....I'm really chuffed for you, you'll soon put your stamp on it I'm sure. image

  • Nice one FG.image.. seriously though for new gardeners you can't rely on rain for plants in containers. Never enough.

  • Saw it again the other day, I wish I knew what kind of tree we have, it's obviously some sort of flowering type, a lilac maybe? Time will tell I suppose!

Difficult to say from the pics SP but from what I can see of the leaves, they do look a 'lilacy' shape image I've got one in my garden - gorgeous lilac blooms in spring image

  • Hi Sweetpea, not sure if I have the right date, but I think today is your moving day.

If so............ good luck and very best wishes in your new home. Hope you will be very happy in your new garden too. xx

  • Well remembered! How sweet! Today is the move and as I write I'm sat in the garden waiting for the OH to bring the van and I'm taking the opportunity to get all sentimental and say good bye to the house and garden.

Will update as soon as we are settled because for the next few days we will be busy little bees!
