Sick looking cherry tree

Arggggggh!   My whole tree looks like this, it is also showing signs of shot holes. The tree is in the middle of a heavily planted area which is why I am worried  I would appreciate comments   I am having a few problems with shrubs and trees this autumn

    My stella cherry tree looked like that a couple of months ago, to be honest i dont know the actual reason, but i took the fruit off, gave it a haircut, mulched it and tben made an effort to remember to water it most days, it has come back with real vigour, i spose its possible that hot dry spell we had put lots of trees etc under stress and made them suceptable (wrong spelling but i hope you know what i mean!) image
