I sometimes wish we didnt own our house, there is tons of stuff which is broken and no pennies to do it! Might help if i didnt spend it all in the garden;)
Oh sweet pea just seen your post on here and following our little chat on the shabby chic thread I'm sure you will make your new home beautiful and how you dreamed of
Keep us posted how it all goes and yes def bulbs will be fine for ages once lifted, just keep it plastic pots till you are ready
Hope tabby cat will be ok in the move, remember to butter her paws
hey again BM, I'll be sad to leave here I'm sure! Kitty cats are indoor only and prefers the life of luxury being served all day and all night. I can't bare their cries so give in to food demands all the time. *sigh*
Been out into the garden for a bit to plant up a wooden fruit crate with purple flowers we got from the GC, heaven knows what they're called! There's a trailing lilac petunia, I know that much!
Moved my only carnation that grew from seed, a fantastic burgandy colour which is being strangled by another lovely surprise, from somwhere in the centre of a city were some lovely wild sweetpeas if that's such a thing, they look just like this:
which considering I'd been trying to pull them unsuccessfully for a month I'm very glad I had a break and these lovely flowers came to being, even though they're climbers have well climbed up all my bedding plants unseen for what must be weeks. I've untangled what I can and made a makeshift wigwam until they stop flowering. Will seed form in pods like normal SPs? I've never encountered the wild stuff before!
I'm going to miss our garden lots, but I can't wait for the privacy of a rear garden with a proper lawn and even a flowering tree in it! I think it's got lots of potential to be a real peach of a small garden!
My cats are indoor too And know exactly what you're saying about the cries
Sounds like you feel better about the move already sweet pea and hope its done you good getting it off your chest, it's good to talk and a problem shared is a problem halved
I don't think that sweet pea is wild, it's a perrinial sweet pea that comes back every year
Hi Sweetpea - a long time since we saw you and now know why. What a shame that you have to uproot (literally). I wouldn't leave anything but weeds in the garden. If you don't have any weeds I could send you some
Best of luck with the move and take as much as you can with you
Weeds aplenty, only seems to be the one, a small little thing that grows faster than anything I've seen and has teeny tiny orange flowers... I hate it with a passion. Leave it for a week and it's an entire carpet.
got lots of SPs from the GC on clearance, more than I can hope to grow next year! There's just something so special about them. I want a fragranced bit at the back with some fragrant honeysuckle, so thats next on my list! Along with a rose, but I might wait until we own for an expensive fragranced one. I don't want to be in the same situation and leave it behind for fear of upsetting it. I don't have a good track record with cuttings!
