My 5 year old rhododendron which is in a large container has bsome bottom leaves turning yellow..Is this a normal thing to shed older leaves or is it a sign of vineweevil which I have quite often in various other pots on my terrace

As Buddyboy says it is probably normal, but also are you feeding it, is the pot now too small, and, does the compost need replacing?

should I give it a good feed now,,? I fed it late spring and added some more compost on the top as it is impossible to chang all the soil as the pot is enormous as well as the plant its self. There are big big buds already formed for next year and of course with all the rain we have had this summer !!!

I don't use FBB on acid lovers, instead once a month I water with an ericaceous feed, from March to September.
