The day ahead.

Morning....just watching the mist rise with a hot cup of tea. Wishing I could spend my day in the garden, but instead I have the daily 2hr commute, a tedious presentation to give, a meeting with a 'talker' so won't be short, a trek to the other side of London for another meeting and then home time....after the 2 hr commute back.

Must remember to buy a lottery ticket at some point.

Anyone doing anything fun today?

Working from home today, but the day after I get back from holiday I have a commute to London, leaving home at 6am and will get back about 10.30 after approx 8 hours travelling on trains with 3 changes each way image

Oh Tootles and OL, sounds like my previous life.  Everyone used to envy me my job but I wouldnt go back to it for the world.  I may be broke but I'm much happier and so much more relaxed.

I am with you Yviesstevie, don't miss the job, love the time I have now, but I do miss the money, and the company. Its amazing how quickly my friends forgot me.

I really feel for you there Tootles, I just would hate that now.

Back in the 60's I used to commute from East London to Richmond, but then they opened a branch locally and I had the chance to work about 10 minutes from home, bliss.

Today I am out to have coffee and cake with a group of friends. My days of working long hours and getting up at silly o'clock are over thank goodness!

Today is my day off work. So aside from baking I'm spending most of today on the phone to my boss discussing vehicles and movements... good job I love him! image (He's going to be chief bridesmaid! )

There are advantages to being unemployable, even if the money is lousy. I was forced to retire at 48 due to ill health (Stop work or be dead in 12 months is what both my Doctor and a Specialist said).

So today, I have been mostly picking fruit, splitting and potting up various Herbaceous plants, playing on here and writing a bit more of a story I am working on.

Hope everyone else's day goes as well as possible for them.

Walked the dog. Undercoated and top coated the inside of the back door. 2 loads of washing. Made a gratin of chard, apple, red onions and courgettes. Had a leisurely lunch, it is only just after 4.00 so will now harvest the rest of the pears and make wine...actually I was just thinking that I hadn't done much today, but seeing it written down it looks differentimage
