    That's it! Ericoides!
That was the name on the hand written label that came with the plant, and I've since lost. Now I can find out when it flowers. Yay!

Aster ericoides, which I think may now be called something else. It will flower soon, mine aren't out yet.Lots of different cultivars in various pinky whitey mauvey shades. Nice plant

Thanks Nutlet, you are a star.
My one is called 'Erlkonig' (apparently will have pale mauve flowers). I bought an aster called 'Wunder von Stafa' which is just super, and thought the Germans must have something good going on with asters, so bought another one with a German name. image

"Wunder von Stäfa" comes from Switzerland, not Germanyimage! Stäfa is a suburb of Zürich on the lake, where there is a plant research and breeding centre.

My Ericoides 'Erlkonig' finally flowered. image Can you see the pink Lupin poking his head up at the back? I have tried telling it that we in autumn, but with beautiful sunshine and a nice warm 23C he doesn't believe me.

Lovely Caralimage.  I have a lupin out now as well even though we had a light frost the other night.
