Wilting Rhododendron

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone knew what was wrong with our rhododendron. It has been in situ alongside a compatriate for about 25+ years and this sprong/summer, both bloomed in their usual colourful ways. However one now ses to be looking very sorry for itself image They have been kept watered and the other one is fine. Can anyone shed any light or give us a remedy to rescue the old girl? Or is she just at the end of her lifespan? http://bit.ly/VNHuwh The link shows you a pic of the problem... Thanks in advance!

  • It does seem to have a lot of ivy underneath it, which could be competing for water and nutrients. Rhododendrons are quite shallow rooted, and so it does not take much growing under it to cause trouble.
  • Hmmm good thoughts.
