    How small is small?

Everything has its season for flowering, there's not much that will flower for a long time, it's not what plants do. They want to get fertilised and make seed.

I'd like to plant them outside my front window. The house built out of red bricks so I thought they'd look nice so anything under 50cm would be good.

So they would have to flower for a few months like the red ones I've got on the back garden.
  • White astrantia...star of billions is a lovely plant. Height is about 55-65cm and height 40-60cm....compact variety.

  • Cutting hard back after flowering brings good flush of leaves and new flowers too.

Crocus sell star of billions - in fact they have it on sale at the moment.  I think it is quite a new one though.
