Attacked an area that has been seriously neglected this afternoon. Remembered Montys saying to collect seed use a bag, I took a huge bag and covered seed heads before I pulled the weeds out. It was mainly willow bay but no wind this afternoon so it worked and I may have reduced next years seeds.

Good idea LP
I have a bed I am about to dig out completely and it looks a bit of a mess. The rosebay willow herb was quite frankly the star performer, tall, majestic pinky/mauve flowers and nice foliage. I have deadheaded the plants before they seed, well mostly.
I always work on the assumption that the soil is stuffed full of seeds from decades of plants, so I don't worry too much. It's all part of gardening fun.
I tend to cut the flower heads off weeds before trying to pull them out.
But I agree, there's pleanty of seeds in the ground anyway - it just makes me feel better!
