I love Phlox, but prefer the old fashioned ones without stripes; they have a density of colour and smoothness of tone that completely beguiles meimage

Phlox are best from root cuttings or division done over the next month or so. I must admit I've never seen seed for them.

Mine dont seem to have any spare growth at the base, just the flowering spikes, maybe I am mistaken about the seed heads?

  • Tks Lyn. Is it esy to grow seeds? In the greenhouse /windowsill?

Chicky.... your plants looks beautiful. There is 1 red phlox of mine which started off beautifully. 3 weeks away and the flowers and leaves died off. It's just about recovering now after some tlc. Couple of them had mildew!! Sigh!!!!

I have never grown them from seeds, mine were bare roots from Parkers.

Made big flowering plants this summer, the seeds, we can only try. I will sow them in the greenhouse, then probably bring them in the conservatory, I dont really know yet.
