Drooping Foxgloves

I planted several foxgloves a few weeks ago which I grew from seed. They are all no less than 12-15 inches apart and seem to be growing quite well - apart from one. It has just flopped. It hasn't died yet but it has stopped growing. What could be the reason and cure?

Dry soil or heat - or a combination - are common causes Ernie, but if the others are in the same conditions that seems unlikely. Is there any sign of insect damage?

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Sounds like a root problem - disease or damage or perhaps hit stony ground (fence post concrete?) or something nasty like weed killer?

  • Hmmm....any root damage when u pricked them out?

I've planted lots of foxgloves this year Ernie and I too have this phenomenon. Most are flourishing but the odd plant looks tired. I think its probably a multitude of causes and possibly each carrying an accumulative effect. Or perhaps some plants are just stronger than others?

Thank you all for your views. Watering doesn't help but I expect there are some weaker plants than others.
