Pollination failure in my cucumber plants :(
i'd tried hand pollination. Like using the swab and twirl it in the male blossoms to pick up the pollen from the anthers or place the male blossom in contact with the stigma on the female blossom and gently twirl it. But both of them don't work. and the female flower eventually shrinked and dropped off.
did i do sth wrong?

Hi, something that I tried, cause I've tried using a swab before was to just pick off the male flower, pull its leaves back over on itself towards stem part then I just simply placed that flower as good as I could inside of the female flower, my cumcumbers grew on the main vine part but you could try training a side root, kind of like how melons are grown
Hope this helps a little, other than trying to attract insects and bee's to your plants there's not a lot more that you can do
What type of cucumbers are you growing.?
Indoor cucumbers are bitter if pollinated. Ridge cucumbers grown outside usually set by insects.
Hi fidgetbones,
i'm growing ridge cucumbers. But due to the limitation of the space i have to grow it indoor.
You would be better growing something like 'Cucino' which is an all female mini cucumber, bred for indoor growing
My mum has had loads of cucino cumbers. Thats what I'm growing next year.
