    They benefit from cutting back as you get the best colour on the new foliage, but let it get well established and a decent size before you charge in with the loppers Jack image

    Royal Purple's the one most places will stock but you can always look online as well, or check out a nursery if you have one near enough. The nursery nearest me stocks several varieties and now does mail order but it would be a bit expensive for one plant! 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I might have to get two different types image.

    I'll check out the local Nursery it's pretty close to here.

    If you want really big, smoky flowers, I think 'Young Lady' is the best.  Not such good leaves though.

    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    ..I would be pretty certain that one in the photo is 'Grace' because of the blue/green lower leaves, and purple at the top...also the leaves are larger as is the plant... it will grow much bigger than others of this type...the autumn colour is both long and spectacular...I find...
