Clematis

Peanuts3Peanuts3 Posts: 759

Hello,

Sorry I managed a rare day of getting 6 hours in the garden today, getting one of my flowerbeds under control, but mission nearly accomplished. As a result I have some questions...

My clematis grew well and flowered for the first time this year, i've noticed that the leaves seem to have brown tips to them.  is this normal after they have finished flowering ?  What should I do with it now it has finished flowering ? Any advice gratefully received. thank you.

Sorry don't seem to be able to get picture right way up.

  • I think it is probably due to the hot weather we have had, I have seen this on clematis myself this year. I don't think there is much you can do for those leaves, other than pick off the ones that are worst affected. Keep the plant well watered, and give it a mulch around the base, just to keep the plant in general good health. I am sure that next year it will be just fine!
