At the bottom of my Garden I have a large Hedge

Which has partially blown over in the high wind see pictures

the hedge I have been told is decades old and inside the hedge is the original lap fence as you can see in the pictures

I am looking advice on how I can repair/secure the hedge the last thing I want to do is remove the hedge as the cost is beyond my small gardening budget

and it acts as security barrier to the rear of the property

any ideas people?

Your hedge seems to be mainly ivy. You can cut as much as you want from it, then it will grow up again. In fact it will do it more good than harm.

Trim the ivy back close to the fence - it will shoot again in the spring. image
