Help !!!

Hi, I'm in desperate need of some help...I planted what I thought was Californian Wonder Pepper seeds due to the description on the packaging, only I've known for some time now that's just not the case. It's turned out to be a beautiful plant and I would actually like to grow it next year but I'm hoping that someone will know exactly what it is so that I can. I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank You in advance image

Rebecca, you can't paste images directly - use the little green tree icon in the toolbar above the reply box to upload them to this site.

    Could they be oleander?

Its something balsam, related to himalayan i think, i grew it once, but havent seen the seed since, very pretty as i remember the seed germinated very easily, you should be able to save some for next year image

  • Hi thank you so much for your suggestions, Dovefromabove, a friend of mine is a part time gardener and have catergorically stated that it's not oleander but unfortunately that's all they did know. bekkie hughes many thanks for your suggestion too image

I bought some seeds from Poundland (well, at that price, it's worth having a go!) and the packet says "Balsam Camellia".  Rather an odd name, and nothing I can find in my RHS books.

But, just like your pictures, Rebecca, it's quite a spectacular plant, and is doing very well.  The packet says it will flower from June to October - so it will be nice if there is still some colour on it in the early autumn.  I shall certainly grow it again.

I think Impatiens as well.  Possibly Impatiens balsamina
