tree disease Laburnum
Is this Laburnum past saving?
I have 'lost' a cherry and Hawthorn tree already to some disease. What is it and will it spread to my Palms nearby? Most branches have this blotching on and many have lost their leaves. Both dead-looking and healthy leaved branches are still fleshy and 'green inside.

I can't see what the soil is like there - could it possibly be waterlogged - laburnums hate that.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good idea but no ...it isn't waterlogged.
I wondered if it could be honey fungus? Have you checked the soil for tell-tale "bootlace" fungus, or under the bark for evidence? I've never seen it other than in books, so I could be way off the mark, (but maybe this helps to eliminate it if nothing else).
Decision made. The tree is being removed next week along with the cherry and hawthorn which have bracket fungi.
Thanks.
