fungi identification please
in Talkback
Can anyone i.d. these fungi.? large clump, but each only about 6mm high. The weird thing is that they are growing on a mossy stone, not on a piece of rotting wood, which is what I would expect.

The one I know that grows in the moss is the little Collared Mosscap, but the shape looks wrong. See what you think http://www.mushroomdiary.co.uk/2014/05/collared-mosscap-rickenella-swartzii-tiny-mushroom/ - or have a look at the rest of that site and see what you can find.

Thanks for the link to my blog. But this large group are most possibly Fairy Inkcaps (Coprinus disseminatus). They're shown half way down on this post: http://www.mushroomdiary.co.uk/2010/04/coprinus-mushrooms-small-inkcaps
