sweetpeas,

Why do my sweetpeas only have stems 2-3 inches long?. The first cuts were about 6-7 inches, now they are very short stemmed.  I have mulched them and kept them moist 'since birth'

  • If they don't get enough water it affect the lengths of the flower stems.

I think they get shorter as the season goes on anyway, regardless of the water.....according to David K anyway.

There is a lot of useful sweet pea info on the thread below Brockley

They just get shorter, as OL says, and some varieties are shorter stemmed anyway.

You'll just have to find some smaller vases brockley! image

Thanks guys, maybe I should pay more attention to watering 'regularly' like tomatoes, which are very sensitive.
