Diseased Elder Tree?? Can someone help?
Hello, this year my Elder tree seems to be suffering enormously. It has lost at least half of its leaves and the rest are not looking too healthy.
The conditions are much the same as last year (when it was totally fine).
I have a feeling it has contracted some sort of virus/fungal disease? Does anyone have any clues.... and is there anything I can do to prevent the tree from dying?
Thank you!

Could we have a close up of some of the leaves? Any problems with the neighbours? Scratch back the bark one of the naked branches with a finger nail to see if the branch is still alive.
Hello - here are some of the (healthier) leaves (the rest have fallen off)
I have a similar problem with a black elderberry. It was flourishing last year but after a long wet spell, when the bed was completely waterlogged, it is struggling this year. I wonder if the roots have drowned over the few weeks it was so wet. Could this be the problem with yours?
Hmm. Don't know. All other plants/trees are fine, and the location does not appear to be prone to water-logging.
I'm no expert, but it looks to me like some sort of disease across the whole tree.
I suppose there is nothing I can do other than wait for next year and hope it's better?
