    Hi.

I have 350 different Hemerocallis , so be careful as they can be addictive.

They need 6 hrs of full sun to perform at their best.

Some good varieties are Right On, Red Rum, German Ballerina, Mauna Loa, there are so many I could go on forever.

Frans Hals is one I grow, red and yellow, long season, very nice.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

No Verdun I'm not too keen on them image

I have seen other variegated ones on a website but can't remember where.

I do have a variegated seedling that I grew from my own seed last year but it hasn't flowered yet.

...in a cottage garden type border... I find a few clumps of Hemerocallis to be a necessity...

.. however, there are very few I like...  my criteria would be - star shape petals with clear gaps - no overlapping... orange/red colouring.... which would rule out those listed by Mark above...  an extended flowering season  6 to 8 weeks is necessary for midsummer... I'm not keen on pastel shades or mixed colours...   doesn't leave me with many choices....so it's good old 'Crimson Pirate'  for me...which as it happens is so readily available..

..I like to remove the spent blooms at the end of the day to start afresh next morning...  don't know how Mark  manages with all those... must be fun and a great hobby to collect so many..... very much a plantsman with this genus...

I have Hemerocallis 'Catherine Woodbery'. It is rather plain but very hardy and very reliable. For colour try 'Amadeus' or 'Red precious' yellow and red respectively.
