Morning image As a group of people with a huge amount of experience of plants, i would be interested to know what plant or plants you would reccomend, what plants would you always have in any garden you owned? Thanks image

How long have you got ............... image

    To start with,

I have grown Rosa Bonica in several gardens - a very pretty rose, flowering continuously throughout the summer and into late autumn, never seems to get disease.  Not the world's strongest perfume, but practically perfect in every other way.

One of the reasons I love it is that it flowers so well that I don't feel guilty cutting some for the house - it looks gorgeous in a jug with some Alchemilla mollis  and a few sprigs of something blue image

Living so close to DA, isnt always a great thing image, but i dont remember seeing that one, i have looked at it online, i got pleind de grace or something like that, really need to stop taking the safe option! image

That combo sounds lovely, im only just realising the virtues of things like alchemilla mollis image

Always easier to use someone elses brain Verdimage, joking aside, its really easy to get stuck in a rut with certain plants, and not try others, i think if they are good enough for you guys then the are good enough for me image

I have always had Lavender in any garden I have had. Tolerant of any well drained soil, hardy and requiring minimal maintenance  - an annual trim.- beautiful to look at and with a superb scent plus it attracts bees.

Couldnt agree more Verdun, i find you guys especially good for telling me what a plant is really likely to do, no substitute for experience as they say! image

I'm not really an expert, but I too would always have lavender, also sunflowers and bulbs - lots of snowdrops, daffodils and tulips.  I also wouldn't be without Begonias now image
