Revived Rhubarb

Forester2Forester2 Posts: 1,477

This is my rhubarb - a picture I posted on here in early May and was about to dig it up and give it the heave ho.

And this it what it looks like this morning three months later on the allotment.  It was worth keeping in the end so glad I didn't chuck it.

Hurrah!  that looks magnificent - a good healthy crown developing to provide lots of lovely crumble next spring  image

I think it was you Dove who also thought it was a goner but suggested I feed it and see what happens and this is the result - I had nothing to lose by trying image

It willl start to die back soon, it looks horrible when it does, so dont worry image

The great weather has probably helped a great deal - my rhubarb is certainly enjoying it as long as I don't let it dry out (no chance of that this weekend image)

When the leaves have gone brown and  died down, a mulch around the crown with some manure and it'll be fabulous next spring image
