Chinese Pond Pump / UV filter

Hi all, I have seen the price of pond pumps have dropped dramatically on eBay - if you buy from china. They are currently selling a 750 litre per hour pump for about ??10 including shipping. They also have a UV filter for ??20. I was wondering if anyone has bought either of these and if you had any reviews? Im worried about the quality for the cost - but surely they must adhere to some level of standard and safety. Kind regards

    Dont you have to pay import duty on top?

    I suspect the only standard they have to adhere to is chinese standards.

     I doubt they have the EU safety standard.

    Are they 110 or 240v? What is the plug like?

    You dont really have to pay import duty I dont think. If the package gets opened by customs then you do have to pay the fees for them.



    They have a EU-230V plug and use 10w of power. The cord is quite short which is probably half of why its so cheap with only 2 metres on it.

    Please be careful with anything from Chinese sellers on ebay, many items are cheap copies of genuine items, also who do you turn to if the item fails later on?
