I've given up watching it in real time - watch it on iplayer when I remember. My Mum (now 80) lives in NI which has different timings again frustrating her greatly - I bought her a set top box that records the series for her whenever it is on which has saved her sanity and mine!
no excuse is too trivial for cancelling / moving GW.
I once called the BBC switchboard to ask why the British Open had 11, yes eleven hours, of coverage and asked if 10 1/2 hours of gold, AND , GW would not have been an acceptable compromise. All to no avail.
It annoys me to how gardening programs seem to get shoved aside for other programs *cough* sports, most of the time, I am just glad I can be lucky enough to series link it. I'm always looking for various gardening programs to watch during the week and considering I'm 23 I wish the BBC would realise that GW does reach wider age ranges and audiences than it thinks. Whew lol

clearly, I meant golf, not gold. Tsk at self.
The only thing duller than the game of golf, is the overwhelming number of those who participate in it.

I understand the BBC does log calls and have meeting to discuss the " log"
it's not just sport, let's look at the Proms too.
As much as I love the Proms, there's only 1 gardening programme on mainstream TV each week in England. I know Scotland also have Beechgrove.
Why is it always that ONE gardening programme which is moved / cancelled.
I would prefer it to be at a regular time every wk, so why not just move it to BBC 4 or another.
why not have a bbc , and ITV for that matter, channel devoted to sport and leave 1 and 2 alone?
BBC couldn't afford it - sports programmes cost too much - it's ridiculous.
